NOTICE OF EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT
Date: June 18, 2026
Subject: Emergency Procurement Due to Flooding Caused by Malfunctioning Water Fountain
Pursuant to applicable procurement regulations governing emergency purchases, this notice documents the need for an emergency procurement resulting from unforeseen damage to school facilities.
On June 18, 2026, a malfunctioning and broken water fountain caused significant water intrusion and flooding throughout portions of the school facility, including classrooms and administrative offices. The flooding created an immediate threat to the safety of students, staff, and visitors and resulted in damage to flooring, furniture, instructional materials, equipment, and other school property.
Due to the urgent nature of the situation, immediate remediation services and related repairs are necessary to:
- Protect the health and safety of students and staff.
- Prevent further property damage and potential mold growth.
- Restore affected classrooms and offices to operational condition.
- Ensure continuity of educational and administrative functions.
Because the circumstances could not have been anticipated and require immediate action, the normal procurement process is impractical and would result in unacceptable delays. Therefore, emergency procurement procedures are being utilized to obtain the necessary water extraction, drying, remediation, cleaning, restoration, and repair services.
The procurement will be limited to those goods and services necessary to address the emergency and restore safe operations as quickly as possible.
